Chapter History

In the summer of 2010, Adriana Carrillo was introduced to Greek life by Gabriel Hernandez, a member of Omega Delta Phi, Alpha Theta Chapter. Hernandez mentioned the possibility of starting Kappa Delta Chi at Western Oregon; he described all the benefits and opportunities that his fraternity had provided him with and what benefits others would have if given the opportunity to join. Carrillo immediately became interested and got in contact with the university to find out what steps she needed to take since Greek life did not exist at WOU.

On August 23, 2010: Carrillo officially contacted the national foundation to show interest and eagerly seeked information on how to start up a colony/chapter on campus. Once paperwork was settled, by January 12, 2011 an interest group of 13 members was established known as the "Pink Lad13s”. By December 16, 2011 the group developed into a Prospective Colony. On November 9, 2012, all 13 ladies became official sisters of Kappa Delta Chi and are formally known as the Charter Class. As of June 21, 2013, the organization became recognized as the Beta Delta Chapter of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc.
